How did you get into your art/craft?
We are a husband and wife team. Patrick, a welder by trade began making furniture for their home and one winter decided to pick up some leather pieces and see if he could make a few personal items having always loved the smell of the hide. When friends opened the Village Cigar Company & Barbershop in Burlington they asked if we ever thought of selling our keykeepers and wallets to the public. We created the name together (merging the metal and leather passions) and LA stepped in to manage the marketing, social media and business relations. After exhibiting our product at Burlingtons MKRSMRKT in the summer of 2014, The Black and Tan Trading Co. (BATTCO) was officially launched.
